High Risk Insurance Restrictions

If you have been classified as high risk for health insurance you should understand that there are restrictions that go with it. Although most high risk insurance coverage is not much different from standard health insurance coverage, one basic difference is the preexisting condition exclusion period. Assuming this is the reason why you were denied standard coverage in the first place, with the high risk plan, even if the coverage has already started, you will have to wait at least 6 months to up to 12 months before you can make a claim on the very medical condition that qualified you in the first place.
