Calling Overseas With a Phone Card
One of our friends from church has a son and daughter-in-law working as missionaries in Ghana. They have always been very close to the kids, so this is pretty hard on them. Calling them using their land line was horribly expensive, and it really bothered them being out of contact for long periods. Someone at the mission headquarters suggested they consider using phone cards, so they started checking on prices. It turns out that they could purchase a phone card with a rate of under three cents per minute. Now, that is really cheap, and it has made a huge difference in their lives.
