Why Not Put a Putting Green in the Back Yard

22 July 2010

It’s been several weeks since I talked with my neighbors but the changes in the neighborhood are remarkable. It seems like the eco-friendly artificial turf installations have really caught on. It seems that everyone is really saving water, and finding time to do some of the things that they really enjoy. You can really install in just about anywhere, and I have been so impressed with how quickly the change transpires from what used to be a sight of ugliness to one of beauty. Frankly, I can not see any reason to not put a putting green in the back yard using artificial turf.

My College Pal Got deep shelves

22 July 2010

My college pal Lynette is someone who I just recently got to see after 20 years away from each other! Lynette is looking fantastic and is just as wonderful and kind as I remembered her to be. She just did a big office redecoration and was showing me about all the changes she made in the office where she works. She pointed out the deep shelves where she keeps all of her favorite books and I told her I think it looks just beautifully done in there. I even told Lynette that she needs to be my decoration consultant when I do my own office!

An Economical Idea

21 July 2010

My husband and my father are working on our kitchen and they are in the process of renovating it.  We were looking for ways to spend less money and we decided to purchase Unfinished Kitchen Cabinets and stain them ourselves.  This was quite a bit cheaper and we could get the exact color that we wanted.  We really enjoyed staining them and they look absolutely beautiful.  We were able to purchase a new dishwasher with the money that we saved by staining the cabinets ourselves.  My kitchen is almost complete and I will be so happy when we can finally say that it is finished.

Emergency Generator Sizing With Electric Motors

18 July 2010

Performing an Emergency Generator Sizing that is inclusive of Electric Motors is a bit more complicated.  Electric motors require a much higher wattage to get them started than they do when they are up and running. For instance if you have a pump motor that requires 300 watts when running, it may require up to 3 times that amount or 900 watts to get it started. Of course this draw will only last for a few seconds until the motor is up to speed, but if your generator capacity is borderline, then this surge may be enough to trip the generator circuit breaker. If you have several motors that will be used at the same time there are several possible combinations that we should explore.

Marble Tiles in the Kitchen

18 July 2010

A few years ago, my husband and I remodeled our kitchen, but we did not do the floors. All of our counter tops are marble and we love the look of it. A few weeks ago, we finally got around to doing the floor and it looks excellent. We purchased marble tiles from a company on the internet, which made us a little uneasy, but the price could not be beat. We were impressed with the tiles when they arrived, especially since they were so affordable. Installing them was much easier than either of us had anticipated, and it looks fantastic with our counter tops.

We Bought Two Fabric Room Dividers

18 July 2010

My guest room and the master bedroom are both now set up entirely differently than they have been for the last several years. I finally got the bug in my ear to really make some changes and re-arrange the way things are set up in the main upstairs rooms. I got two fabric room dividers so as to better use the space in both those rooms. Now I can have a sitting area also in the rooms and it doesn’t look weird with the chair being so close to the bed. I love these dividers, they really make the space work better for me.
