Choosing a Piano Teaching Method for Children

Every teacher and student has their own unique abilities, strengths and weaknesses. A good piano teacher should choose the teaching method that will best accommodate the student style of learning. The same advice goes to young piano students and their parents. Students can experiment with one teacher or another. If the child finds a piano instructor’s teaching technique to his liking then it is safe to presume that the child can learn best with that method.

Students can of course choose a teacher or method to their liking. It isn’t right to force a certain type of method on a student just because that is what the piano teacher prefers to teach. If you teach piano to children remember to tailor your teaching method to the child’s individual needs.
